Great Vintage 1930-40's Clay Poker Chip Set in Rare Black Walnut Box! Over 300 chips total!! T is a paper label on the bottom of the box stating "A Consider H. Willet, Inc Product Manufacturers of Fine Furniture, Louisville, Kentucky, Solid American Black Walnut". The Willet Furniture Co. was started in 1934 and soon became the largest and best furniture maker in the country until the late 50's. And, from what I understand black walnut is a rare and expensive wood.The box measures approx. 12" wide, 10" deep and 2 3/4" high and weighs almost 9 lbs. I am selling this set as found in a local NC estate and it includes approx. 79 red clay chips, 79 blue clay chips, 120 white or beige clay chips and 29 yellow clay chips for a total of approx. 307 clay chips. The chips and the box are in good used condition. T are also some misc. dice and some cardboard chips and a bridge score card dated 1935.This would be a great gift for the poker player/collector that also appreciates antiques.
