This is a wonderful vintage quilt top from the 30's or 40's. I'm guessing as to the age but the fabric looks like that generation of material. All of the squares are hand appliqued on muslin. All of the pieces are outlined in a blanket stitch of DMC floss. Each girl has a different pattern of material making up her dress,shoes and hat. The squares are hand appliqued but the squares are all machine sewn together. The material appears to have been washed at some point. As to whether it was before or after it was made its hard to tell but the fabric is not bright like new. I'd suspect some color is lost with age. The top is free of stains and smells. Its been stored in my closet for years. I'd forgotten I had it. We do not smoke. The length is approximately 85 inches. The width 69 inches. It would Makes into a twin sized bed.
