Another piece from a fabulous mid-Maine estate - and of all the things I found, this is probably my favorite - a 1940's swim suit/play suit in an amazing fabric, and in a very wearable larger size. This is made of a gray cotton, printed with clusters of tiny yellow hearts. From a distance it looks almost like atomic bursts, but up close, the design becomes apparent. I. love. this. fabric. This has a scooped neckline and interesting "x" tailoring over the bust, accentuated with yellow piping. Gathers beneath the breasts allow for lots of fullness, the waist is tapered with a flattering "v" shaped seam, and the skirt flares out. The suit is lined with black nylon, which has elastic leg openings (see photos). This closes up the back with a metal zipper. The suit was pinned against the form for this picture, and you can scroll down to see what it looks like unpinned. Please scroll down for more pictures. Chest: 46 inches Waist: 38 inches Hips: 60 inches Shoulders: na Shoulder to Waist: na Sleeves: na Length: 34 inches Very good - the black lining has numerous holes and seems to have lost some stretch (it could be repaired or this could be worn with black bikini bottoms).
