Up for auction is this *extremely rare* 1957 Welch Air Flight "jetsons" electrically reversible box fan. Impossible to find,I have only seen one of these come up for sale on ebay in 8 years and it brought $550 and was missing one of the "tailfin" grille emblems. (mine has both) I have had this one in my private collection for over 10 years and am reluctantly offering it for auction. This model is highly sought after for its space age design, from its red bakelite tailfin shaped knobs to its red anodized aluminum boomerang grille emblems this fan epitomizes 50's modernism. when I bought this years ago it was still inside its original box, sadly the box deteriorated and was thrown out. everything works perfectly.the elderly couple I bought it from said they only used it a few times in all the years they owned it. I have oiled the motor and have just had it on display, using it only once or twice in all the years I have owned it. The motor spins freely without any bearing noise and runs strong as it should, puts out a strong jet of air. All speeds and thermostatic functions work perfectly. Fan is electrically reversible. and with the flick of a knob can draw air inward or expell it outwardly. Even the red rubber handle and cornish cord are perfect and intact, the rubber feet are too! I am offering it for sale once with no reserve. read more
