Beautiful vintage 60s mod brocade evening dress from Quad! Here is a wonderous original vintage 60s dress designed by Quad! It has a black velvet bodice with 3/4 length poet sleeves that are slightly puffed at the shoulder. It has an empire line cut with the high waistband falling just below the bust as you can see in the pictures, giving a baby-doll mini style to the dress. The tulip skirt is slightly gathered at the waist, although it falls quite straight and doesn't really flare out. The skirt is made from black and shimmering gold brocade fabric, with a geometric op-art /psychedelic or maybe even tribal pattern, featuring diamonds and chevrons. It is finished at the hem with a black velvet ribbon and is lined with black fabric. It fastens with a zip at the back and has a scoop neckline.This dress is dry-clean only due to the fragile velvet. It is in a good clean condition and being a used vintage item it has some very minor flaws including some very tiny areas of the velvet pile that I can only assume won't lie flat or may have shed or pulled? I can't really decipher what they are without a magnifying glass, so in other words they're incredibly small and unnoticeable! I just like to be honest with my listings! They don't take away the overall charm of this dress and as you can see from the final four photos, I've had to make these show up in a picture by photographing them with a very high exposure, hence the black velvet looking rather grey. It is a very dark black in reality and has no fading.The only other thing to mention is that when laid flat the dress is about half an inch longer at the back than at the front, although this is part of the design and when worn it looks level! I bought it from a vintage shop without trying it on beforehand and I am selling it because it sadly doesn't me.It is very tiny and would suit a petite lady, ideally a UK size 6 or 8 with the following measurements:Bust: 31 inchesJust below bust: 26 inchesWaist: 34 inches or 'free' (wide due to empire-line style)Hips: free, 36 inches maximumLength (from shoulder to hem): 31.5 inchesPlease also note the shoulder and arm measurements as they are quite small:Shoulder to shoulder width: 38 inches maximumArm length (from underarm to cuff): 16.5 inchesArm circumference at wrist: 7.5 inchesArm circumfernece at bicep: 10.5 inches Very mod, scooter-girl, psychedelic, op-art, baby-doll, glitzy, cocktail, Mad Men in style!
