J.A. Henckels, Solingen Germany "#95" Extra Hollow Ground Vintage 5/8" Straight razor Absolutely Immaculate condition vintage razor from this legendary manufacturer. There is a deep mirror finish to the blade as seen in the pictures. This extra hollow grind has a small subtle smile and will surely sing for you as it provides an extremely close shave. There are jimps below for added grip. Nice faceted toe. There are 2 minor water spots that have been buffed, polished and restored to mirror shine. The scales are what truly make this razor amazing. Nice thick genuine mother of pearl which, despite its heftiness, is surprisingly well balanced with the blade. The inner brass liners have been buffed and polished to a mirror shine, giving an nice golden glow from within the scales. The Mother of Pearl is free of cracks, knicks, dirt, imperfections. It has been polished and gives a nice iridescent glow with a superb prismatic effect. Even the small brass pins have been polished with fine micron grit paper. The scales center perfectly and close with just the right amount of resistance. The razor stays open when you want it to (does not close with gravity). The razor has been superbly kept and has recently been tuned-up. It has had a thorough cleaning and has been disinfected with medical grade sterilizer. It has been professionally honed
