VINTAGE ADAM'S PENNY GUM MACHINE - A COLLECTOR'S MUST UNIQUE STAINLESS STEEL PENNY GUM MACHINE with 6 slots featuring beeman's, chiclets peppermint , chiclets cinnamon, chiclets spearmint, and 2 slots for dentyne gums. It is all original and in good condition. I have attached many pictures so that you can see the uniqueness and the visible imperfections. There is some visible wear .The colors of the signage are bright and clear with some minor wear spots. 1 cent appears in a circle on the front followed by "put coin in slot .....slide lever under gum desired and press down" below the coin slot is "property of mills automatic merchandising corp. new york serial no 40051 patent app'd for. I do not have the key for it and the lock is in the open position.. I purchased it at an estate sale. According to Wikipedia and other information I have been able to view this type of unit was called "subway vendors" as this type of machine hung on poles in the New York City subway system for many years. They were built very strong and sturdy and weighs more than it looks, a heavy 16 pounds. measurements are 16"high x 10"wide 5"deep at bottom lip. All items are sold as is. This is a real collector's item. if you're into vending, antique or different machines, this is a great piece to consider.
