A boxed vintage ‘Airlyne’ Home Rugmaker Machine – believed to date from the 1940’s – identified on the box as ‘THE WORLD’S FASTEST HOME RUGMAKER’.The rugmaker appears to be complete and includes the machine, threader, instruction sheets and associated leaflets – all enclosed in the original box. Box measures 275mm x 175mm x 120mm and the typical 1940’s style illustrated graphics shows the price of 28/6d. The machine bears some light grime and discolouration marks. Some small component parts (some screws and washers) bear light surface corrosion – easily cleaned. Overall the machine appears to be in excellent condition. The cardboard box staples bear very slight surface corrosion. One end of the box bears a small impact/ scuff mark on the upper edge and one end of the box lid has suffered some tear damage. Apart from edge scuff marks and age tarnishing, the complete box is otherwise very solid and in very good condition. A doubly interesting item both in terms of the fully working machine and the box advertising graphics. A nice addition to any collection of early home domestic or DIY items or 1940's advertising boxes. Postage cost reflects the actual Standard Parcel rate for the weight range ie, no additional costs.
