Vintage Alan Super Record road bike frame and fork, with Mavic bottom bracket. Over ten years ago, a friend gave me this Alan frame, and I planned on building it up with parts from the era. Years passed, the frame moved with me across the country twice, and I never ended up making the bike of my dreams. Now I have moved on to other projects. Presumably, this frame was built up and ridden during the late 1970s and 1980s, but it appears to be lightly used, as there is very little wear and tear. The major blemishes are the blistering on the decals. Three of the letters show major damage and four of them show minor damage. You can also see some cable rub under the bottom bracket shell, but all in all, the frame appears to have been lightly used. The photos should give you a good sense of this. I don't know the exact year and model of the frame shown above. Here is a website with some information on vintage Alan frames:Google: Alan classic rendezvous. This should take you to the site. The frame listed here is similar to the one pictured on the site above, except for some variation on the lugs. I don't know the year of production (late 1970s?), but the number stamped on the bottom of the bottom bracket shell is: 373221. The frame is aluminum and lugged ("screwed and glued"). Apparently, Alan was a pioneer in aluminum frame construction. read more
