The auction is for a Vintage American Brillant Cut Glass Tobacco Jar. The jar is 4" high x approx. 4" wide and 2 1/4" across the bottom. It is in excellant condition, no chips or cracks. The jar features a deep silver lid, enough dept for a sponge to keep the contents fresh. It does glow a pale yellow under a black light florescence test. You can rub your fingers across the glass and feel the edges, it is also a heavy piece. I cannot find, or rather see a maker's mark. I purchased this jar at a recent estate sale of a deceased 87 year old lady, in town. Look for other pieces from this sale in some of my other up-coming auctions. It is a beautiful old piece and would make a wonderful addition to your American Brillant Cut Glass Collection.
