You're looking at a fantastic vintage American chain necklace. The necklace is comprised of 4 very chunky chains which are linked separately at the equally chunky clasp and yet they are subtly joined overall with alternate loops in each chain to still allow for movement but each chain being held next to its neighbour, creating a flat collar when worn. Each link is actually two circular loops. The four chains have slightly different sized links, getting smaller towards the middle. The clasp is rather like an Egyptian geometric design with the actual fastener a smaller clasp in the centre. The overall effect is absolutely stunning. A classic piece of 'shout it out loud' 1980s chic! The clasp is marked Monet in two places. Monet originally started as Monocraft and is renowned for its simple gold tone designs, from 1981 working with Yves Saint Laurent. Measurements : Weight 240g Length approx 47cm, allowing for the curve in the design Width 3.5cm All items are sourced personally by myself from America and are genuine vintage pieces, never reproduction!
