This amp will get the Motown James Jamerson sound. Everything you need is here but a Fender P-bass and cable (actually, all you need is any bass with a string through body saddle, which is virtually every bass). The Classic Motown sound is in the amp. This has original tolex that is in very good vintage condition, definitely not as pretty as the new $2900 reissues but I thought it sounded much better (I think the difference rest in the tolex and believe most other listeners would agree if they were blindfolded). I'm including a gorgeous 2005 advertising catalog that details the Portaflex reissue and a CD Book with 15 Motown classic songs (It's a great Bass tutorial notation book). It is the same amp and cabinet size yet has a 12'' speaker instead of a 15''. If you want to get the specific Jamerson sound, turn the knobs on the bass guitar on full, the bass on full, the highs directly up in the middle, the mids will usually be off but can vary depending on songs. He actually used 15'' twin speakers made by a different brand (I found the 12'' to be very suitable). Labella strings and a foam pad under the saddle (I tried this but thought it wasn't necessary). I'll go into all details with winner after auction. I also failed to discuss the condition of the amp, it is generally pretty good for an amp that is getting close to 50. Latches work, amp flips very well over and stays steadily in place, all things are still intact aside for a missing ''g'' on the Ampeg logo in the pictures. If you're bothered by that you can find another on Ebay in time. I've seen them here and there in the years I've owned this amp. More importantly, this amp sounds clean. I would have preferred to put these photos up much sooner - I've been way too busy lately. All original everything but possibly speaker. I cannot verify if this Jensen Concert Series speaker was original. Everyone I've asked tells me they cannot be sure but some told me that Ampeg did use Jensen speakers as well as many others. Speaker cable to speaker is original. Original and less common tolex is original, sounds better to me than the old and new checker tolex. Tubes are original. Realistic Lifetiime 7868 6L6GC (lettering is still intact) and Mullard 5AR4 (only visible lettering intact is a fairly legible Britain and the date codes are are very legible 132 B3J3 5AR4).
