You're bidding on an antique, vintage 1930-1940s General Electric Fan This Vortalex model, cat. # 78x191, spec. # 272698-1, is intact and performs as designed. She's heavy at 15 lbs, 3.6 oz The fan is still powerful to this day, the 3 speeds work and it oscillates in all 3 speeds. The cage/fan blade unit tilts and locks flawlessly It's 18"H and 8" round at the base. The black metal cage is 14" round and 4 1/2" deep. The 3 blade 12" fan is probably nickel plated brass She works great and is remarkably quiet. The 3 speeds (photo # 10) snap into position and respond on each setting It's in very good condition with only a few minute scratches here and there. The polished nickel fan blades are very clean Photo # 4 appears worse than in real time. A good cleaning and polishing will make it almost like new The felt covering for the base bottom needs to be reattached or replaced (Photo # 12)) Although the original cord powers up the fan, it's dry and brittle with exposed metal and needs to be replaced The cage and blade assemblies will be removed and boxed, then included inside the box with the main fan motor assembly.
