VINTAGE ART NOUVEAU FIGURAL LADY WITH FLOWER BASKET NEWEL POST OR TABLE LAMP LAMP BODY DOES NOT ATTRACT A MAGNET Presented in a Buy It Now format is a beautiful figural maiden lamp holding a basket of flowers from the garden. This lamp was originally located on the newel post of a home or used as a table lamp. It retains its original GE socket with labeled turn knob and a vintage round plug. Overall, this is a very elegant light fixture. Note: the beaded bulb cover is not included with this listing. The metal body is in good shape ~ she has all of her fingers, toes and flower buds. The detail is both exquisite and amazing! The lady is reaching for a tiny bird that has 'landed' at the neckline of her dress. I do not know whether the lamp is made of bronze or spelter type metal ~ it does not attract a magnet. The rod that holds the wiring within it, is made of cast iron. Measuring approximately 17.5 inches tall and 6.5 inches wide, I do not know if the lamp works and I am reluctant to try it out due to the age of the electrical components. The black base seen in the photos is made of wood. Please review the enlarged photos closely, there is some chipping of the finish in some areas and overall of the lamp is dusty and dirty.
