What a great find. This is a really old hand mixer, or egg beater, complete with the crock. The crock is sort of an ivory color with cornflower blue bands. The crock is unmarked, and I have no idea if it is yellowware, or what, since I am no expert. On the beater it is marked: "PAT APL'D FOR", and "MADE IN USA", and in a little diamond it says "A&J". It stands about 13" high all together. The crock itself is about 5-1/2" high, and about 5" in diameter at the top. The beater section fits inside the crock, and the "lid" rests on the rim of the crock, which is rounded inside to accommodate the beaters. This piece is a very old antique, so it obviously has many signs of age. The crock has alot of fine crazing and other age flaws, as well as some original glazing flaws. It also has a crack, and also a very small chip at the very bottom edge, both of which you can see in the photos. On the bottom are some dark spots, and I have no idea what they are, maybe little blobs of paint or something. The beater part has plenty of rust and pitting, also shown in the photos. The ivory painted handles are wood, and t are a couple of tiny cracks in those as well. Also, the top large handle is just a bit loose. All of these "flaws" add to the antique charm. The beaters turn very easily. This is a fantastic old piece to add to your collection! SHIPPING read more
