Up for auction is a old antique early 1900s "Heinrich Th. Heberlein Jr." workshop 2 pc back full size violin for restoration. The nicely figured 2 pc. curly maple back measures 14 3/16 by 8 5/16 inches. The violin is lined and has 4 corner blocks. The scroll and pegbox are in good condition and the neck is solid. The soundpost is standing inside the violin and there are no open seams. The violin is labelled as a "Made in the Atelier of Heinrich Th. Heberlein Jr. Markneukirchen 1923 Made in Germany" (please check pic). The violin is for restoration. The violin has age related scratches/wearmarks on the varnish (please check pics). The top of the violin had been repaired at one time including a repair in the soundpost area. The repairs appear to be stable and holding (please check pics). The violin has edgewear on the top bottom treble side bout and the fingerboard has wear on it (please check pics). Please check pics. and email questions. More pics. available upon request.
