This is a fabulous drinking fountain made in the 1920's or early 30's by the Murdock Co. Murdock has been making drinking fountains since 1853 and still is today. This one is identical to the one that stands outside the Coit Tower in San Fransisco. The heavy base is cast iron and the bowl looks like it was nickeled copper, look closely and see the shiny nickel places on the bowl. Most of it is gone leaving amazing green patina of copper that has aged for many years. The drinking fountain is 37" tall and the bowl is 12" across. The wooden base is holding it up off of the ground because it still has it's iron pipe and copper pipe inside, coming out of the bottom. It is in great condition as shown and has wonderful Art Deco detailing with wonderful Murdock signature on pedestal and foot pedal.
