These are the precursor preamps to the newer api 512c. As you can see, all the trannies and the famous 2520 opamp are all there (this is in a time period when the opamp didn't have any print on it). I bought these as they are now. They have been pro mounted to a 500 series faceplate by someone who is very skilled (by the looks, I'd say it was API or Brent Averill, or someone of equal caliber). I rolled the dice on these rare beauties crossing my fingers that the blade might be compatible with a lunchbox, but the aren't. The vintage 512a pres had gold strips on BOTH sides of the terminal blade and the new lunchboxes have 15 strips/pins that only read on one side of the terminal blade. So, you will want to have these things wired up by someone who knows what they are doing. The studios that have these on their equipment list will tell you how amazing they are to use. I talked to Dan Alexander and he gave me 3 names of techs who could do this very quickly! I will give the winner those contact names...I haven't called any of the contacts myself to have them racked because I just made a mic trade for 2 new 512c pres.
