This handmade, vintage, applique quilt in pastel tones is quilted in blocks. The blocks are machine stitched together. It is all cotton, possibly muslin or flour sack. The item is in fair condition owing to nine or ten loose appliques and worn trim. The top is pieced with a running-stitch, square quilting pattern. The stichwork is uneven but not broken. The central appliques show wear and are faded to soft pastels in most areas. All are scrap cotton, mostly dress weight. The back is a solid piece of muslin or flour sack wrapped to the front to form the trim. The front is bordered in wide muslin strips that have been machine-stitched to the main body of the top. There are two very small (four sack?) marking, BUD-3, on two corners of the back. Two edges of the quilt are frayed, the other two sound. The item is medium weight, possibly muslin batting, some lumping and soft feel overall. Only very careful laundering of this item is recommended. The item has no large stains. Only several small, light yellow spots on the back (under 1/4 inch). The quilt is functional for light use. Many of the appliques could be used for piecing if desired. More photos will be posted when the site will load to a total of seven by auction end. This is a vintage item with signs of wear. It is in fair-to-good condition. The applique work could be restitched read more
