This is a beautiful quilt with interesting embroidery. It appears to all have been done with an embroidery machine - which resulted in very beautiful appliques. I've not seen any quilts quite like this one. It is not new and hasn't got what I'd call 'fine' stitching. I've taken a close up photo of the stitching; looks like about 5 stitches to the inch, so it's not those tiny stitches you see on fancy quilts. Reflected in the price.The quilt is in excellent condition with no holes, rips, fraying or tears. However there is a faint stain around the middle part of it - please see the photos. I don't know what it is and I have not tried to wash/clean this quilt. It has machine embroidery all around the scalloped edges as well so it does not have a binding.Another interesting aspect of this quilt is that the quilter quilted it with rather large stitches and used GREEN THREAD in the center area - then switched to white/cream for the rest. It has a lot of quilting and occasionally you can see the knotted thread ends hanging out. It perhaps needs a bit of detail work - cleaning up those threads...or re-quilt the whole thing! That was my plan originally...but I never got around to it...The fabric on the back and front is the same type/color. It's nice and soft but still has lots of life left in it...not limp so it feels newer than some I have. read more
