This vintage cap was made by Bancroft Cap Co. The Bancroft tag inside the cap shows size 7 3/4 and what I think is a year date of 1962 - It is hard to read this number - So this cap may be from the Vietnam War Era. Again, I am NOT certain if this is the manufacture year, or some other number used by Bancroft. Cap is in nice shape for a used cap, and it has NO sagging in the badge area as some older caps have. Cap is very clean inside and out! The cap is made of white vinyl material, NOT cloth. Cap has a high gloss black visor peak and chin strap. The cap has two gold-colored Army eagle side buttons to hold the chin strap in place. Cap is used and vintage, but it is in GREAT shape! Very clean for a white cap! NOS - New Old Stock.This cap was used with the US Army GREEN dress uniform, and is no longer used by the Military Police, as I was informed it was phased out and made obsolete by approx 1992. This TYPE of white cap was used by the US Army Military Police from World War 2 through the early 1990's.The cap comes with a standard enlisted service man's US Army badge. Badge has some surface scratches. I don't know if this badge dates to the Vietnam Era, but it does show some wear and age. This cap is being sold as a collector / historical item ONLY!
