Vintage Old Art Deco 1930’s Marcasite Signed Nymph Duette Dress Clip Brooch Up for grabs this evening is this gorgeous art deco vintage old 1930’s marcasite signed Nymph Duette Dress Clip Brooch. This is a gorgeous example from the Art Deco period. These brooches which convert into two dress clips are becoming more and more difficult to find. This one in particular is a gorgeous example. It is signed on both dress clips on the back ‘Nymph.’ The piece is primarily a marcasite brooch but it converts into two dress clips. It is in excellent condition with no marcasites missing. It measures approx. 6.3cm x 2.2cm and the brooch clasp and dress clip clasps are in excellent tight working order. To be worn on either lapel of a faux fur coat or else on your white shirt collars. Dress clips have a larger and wider piece of metal which has "teeth" intended to grasp thin material like a dress or shirt. There are many styles of dress clips. Some were flat hinged pieces of metal with no decoration and others were ornately filigreed in design. Occasionally, one would be more of a wired frame design. Normally, a patent number is found on the underneath part of the hinge mechanism. There are numerous bakelite dress clips from this period too.
