For sale is a pretty quality vintage powder compact, circa 1920s made in France signed PEGUY. The top has a quality domed glass cover with gorgeous iridescent blue butterfly wing and painted Dutch scene of a lady and gentleman with windmill in background. Inside lid is a convex mirror, made to show the whole of the face. Lid shuts nicely,hinge good. The butterfly wing looks good, there is slight aging on edge (please take a good look at the zoom pictures) The case is made from metal with a gilt type finish and engine turned base and sides. Base is stamped PEGUY. Overall condition is good for age, there is some wear to the metal in places. The mirror is quite aged and patchy all over, but a reflection can still be seen (not a clear one though) Measures just under 2 inches across. (Please note there are a couple of white spots on both frontal pictures which are just reflection from a light source)
