Vintage Art Deco Leather-covered Mondaine Compact I haven't seen anything like this before! This Mondaine make-up compact is shaped like a little book, and has a leather cover with a lovely dark turquoise art deco pattern stamped on the front. It measures 2 X 3 7/8 inches and is 1/4 inch thick. Another unusual aspect of this compact is that the mirror inside is beveled... classy, huh? It also has a rouge and pancake makeup compartment inside. The compact does show wear - it appears to be VERY old. Please check the pictures closely. The "spine" of the compact book has some leather fraying at the top and bottom. The back has a small red stain. The mirror has discoloration and the rouge and pancake pancake powder pads are frayed (as would be expected from something this old). The metal has some oxidation, but I believe it can be cleaned up nicely.
