~Vintage Art Deco MOTTO GRAPH Framed Print BETTER SMILE Poem Maxfield Parrish Era~ Up for auction here is a lovely vintage Art Deco framed color pochoir print by Motto Graph featuring a sweet poem about smiling, entitled Better Smile and reads 'Better Smile! Ain't no is a frownin'- makes us old - Grumblers make us weary - treat 'em cold:- Life was made for laughter - ain't no harm - Smiles are like the sunshine - keeps us warm - Get the knack o' smilin' - just a while - Gosh this old world needs it - Better Smile!'. It is printed in gilded gold and black lettering on off-white paper with blue background and flanked by beautiful art deco era flowers in lovely shades of mauve, orange and periwinkle along with Maxfield Parrish type illustrations of costumed minstrels throughout. It is in its original wood frame that was painted red with gold gilding, which has a patina from age. The back has small original metal hanging loop, and a pull out paper cone to stand it on a desk or tabletop and it's original Motto Graph to and from and date paper label. Motto Graph was made by The Cincinnati Art Publishing Company, or The Cin Art Pub Co on the label. The black paper backing is lifting a bit from the bottom corners and one side - otherwise great condition for age. Measures 9 1/2" x 6 1/2" x 1/2".
