The Cobra lamp was manufactured for the Sheaffer Pen Company of Fort Madison, Iowa probably somewhere between 1930 and 1940. With it's elegant streamlined design, this lamp is one of the most brilliant art deco pieces of the that era.This lamp stands 12.5 inches high with the shade being 11" in diameter. The bulb size is standard medium. The lamp is constructed in copper-plated bronze, giving it an original, stunning copper patina that has been allowed to age, and never polished preserving the initial finish. Also included are the original Sheaffer bakelite desk pen and pen holder.Note: Unfortunately, as with most of these lamps that find their way to the marketplace, the bulb cover is missing.This Cobra lamp is in excellent condition and has been rewired at some point.I have enjoyed this lamp for over 20 years and it will be missed, however to be admired and treasured in another setting.
