This unused undivided backpostcard by an unknown publisher dates to before 1903. It is initials signed by the Austrian artist Carl Reichert. The black and white image is that of a dachshund dressed for hunting. He sports a Bavarian kind of feathered hat, a knapsack on his back, a collar and attached cravat (to go hunting?) and carries a rifle. In addition, he is wearing a monocle and smoking a cigarette. This is a very odd portrait indeed. The postcard is in very good condition with overall discoloration, light corner wear, and two smudges on the background. Postage and handling will be $1.00. To protect the postcard, it will be sent in a plastic sleeve attached to some cardboard before being put in an envelope. Thank you for your bid.
