FALL AUCTION EXTRAVAGANZA!!! THE PUNKY PLEDGE: NEW ITEMS LISTED DAILY!!! BABY SANDY!!! COMPOSITION 1940!!! My Mother was a big time collector of composition and bisque dolls. She collected for more than 50 years. I am starting to sell the collection. Some of the dolls are minty while others are fixer-uppers. I am selling the fixers as auctions with low opening bids. I will be listing Patsy Ann and her family, Shirley Temple, Arranbee, Alexanders, By-lo babies, and more... So keep watching!!! BABY SANDY GOOD CONDITION ONLY (NOT MINT, NOT EXCELLENT, NOT VERY GOOD). Baby Sandy was a movie star toddler in the early 1940's. She came to the silver screen to compete with Shirley Temple, and appeared in a series of movies. Ralph Freundlich (Jeanette Dolls), designed Sandy. This doll has the curved baby legs. Measures 10 inches tall. The clothing is NOT original, and is sort of dingy. Sandy is composition. The legs must have been chipping at some point, because someone used a compo paint to try to restore them (not the best job). Stringing is fairly good. The composition is very good on the rest of the body. Nice blonde molded hair, painted lips with teeth. I think the eyes are tin (one on the left is cock-eyed). The doll did not have lashes. Marked "Baby Sandy" on the back of the head. Check out the phots for closer inspection. A great read more
