This is a great looking trophy probably from the 1950s with a Bakelite/Catalin/Marblette red and butterscotch base featuring a large gold toned cast metal figure of a man with a bolt action rifle and ammo belt. Figure is in fairly good condition but the rifle barrel has been repaired/replaced as it had broken off at one time. Figure is large and quite heavy and shows some minor plating loss and some discoloration. Trophy is in a perfect size for a desktop or bookshelf. Base is in very good condition with a nice, glossy finish and minimal scratches or scuffs. There is no name plate but any trophy shop can engrave one and fit it into the base slot provided and then reverse the figure. Height of the trophy is about 11 1/2” high and base is 4 1/2” high and 3 ½ by 3” at the sides of the bottom section. Cast phenol formaldehyde trophy bases like this were generally made in the 1950s and are made out of what is usually referred to as Bakelite but actually was probably sold under the trade name of Catalin or Marblette. Shipping by Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation in the U.S. is $18.00.
