This auction is for a vintage Mattel Barbie Roman Holiday Set #968 (1959). This is beautiful set is one of the most sought after of all Barbie ensembles. This set is very rare since it was made for only one year. The very pretty zippered back dress with red and white ribbed cotton bodice and navy skirt is in excellent NM condition. It has no spots or stains. The dress is crisp and the colors are very bright and vibrant. There are no holes or loose seams. The YKK zipper is present at the back of the dress in good working condition. The hard to find white vinyl belt with buckle is fantastic with no cracks, splits marks or any sort of damage to it. The black and white Barbie tag is firmly sewn onto the inside of the navy skirt. The matching red and white ribbed coat is in equally fabulous condition! It is very clean and crisp. The color is bright with no fading. The red half lining is all present with no holes or tears. Both side pockets are firmly attached with both gold button accents present on them. All five gold buttons are securely attached on the front side of the coat and are shiny and clean. The only flaw I can find on the coat is a small slit in the fabric on the back side of the collar. All of the seams are nice and tight and the black and white Barbie tag is present in good shape. The very very hard to find pearl drop necklace
