Very Unique Colt Folding Knife BARRY WOOD BUTTERFLY DESIGN FOLDING HUNTER KNIFE made for Colt in 1970 It has a laminated wood handle in great condition, no chips or cracks. The COLT SHIELD is on the case. The blade is in very good condition with a very sharp edge. This knife has a very solid feel, with no play. The COLT Logo is etched on the blade. This knife opens similar to a butterfly knife. It is very unusual. You open by gentle motion of slightly seperating the case at notch on bottom and swing side of case 360 degrees, which locks the knife securely in place. This can be done with one hand with a little bit of practice. This knife does not have sheath. Knife is used and sold as is. This knife is version 1 of this model that Barry Wood designed. He designed knives for colt from 1969 - 1973. This is a 360 degree folder. In the early seventeenth century, knives using a 360 degree Barry Woods type opening method with puzzle locking mechanisms became popular. Some of the mechanisms are very intricate. Some even had combination locks. This model is very simple to open. Colt logo is on the pivot. Colt sheild is on the blade.
