Here is a lovely old tin which is marked on the bottom 'Geo. Bassett, manufacturing confectioners'. The tin is marked with a patent number of 165333 which indicates it was patented in 1921. The tin has a picture of a crinoline lady in a garden and has 'workbox' written on the front. It has a clasp lock which opens smoothly and inside the tin has two little trays on either side so that once you had eaten your sweets, you could use the tin as a pretty sewing box. The tin measures 8 x 6 and is 2.5 inches deep. It has a hinged lid which opens easily. As per the photographs, the tin does have some scratching to it. The tin has some age marks to the silvering inside but it is clean and there would be no problem with using it as a box to store your buttons and sewing bits and pieces. Thanks for looking!
