Vintage bent free had cut karl erik tobacco pipe made in denmark Rare and Unusual, Elegant, Beautiful, Excellent Condition This is a vintage slightly bent free hand cut tobaccopipe. The bowl is cone-shaped. It is focally rustic hand cut (sand blast) on the left and right sides with a light to dark brown shiny natural wood appearance. However, on the remaining areas it is smooth and shiny with a light brown, mostly flaming (straight) wood grain. The bowel is considered large size and measures 2 ½” in height. Diameter is 1 ¾” at top and 1 ½” in diameter at the middle. The shank is round with the same appearance as the bowel. It measures 1” in length and average ¾” in diameter. There is a stamp on the left side surface:”KARL ERIK”. There is no stamp for country of origin. The stem is shiny black vulcanite with a logo stamp on its upper surface “KE”. It shows no evidence of any oxidation or defect. It is bent and measures 2 ½” in length and averages 5/8” in diameter. The total length of the pipe is approximately 5 ¼”. Karl Erik Ottendahl (1942-2004) is the famous pipe maker of born in Aalborg in north of Denmark. When he was sixteen he began hand carving pipes as a hobby. He chose his pre-name “Karl Erik”-logo ”KE” for his label. This pipe is smoked only occasionally. It is professionally refurbished, polished and sanitized. It read more
