Offered at auction: a beautiful vintage 64 piece set of Sterling Silver flatware by Birks of Canada in the Chantilly pattern. A true heirloom...bought one piece at a time from Birks Jewelry in Ontario shortly after World War II. Graciously and lightly used; lovingly cared for. An antique pattern, "Chantilly" was patented by Gorham in 1895 . Gorham-Canada was/is owned by Birks, reputed to be Canada's finest silversmith. No monogram. The set consists of: Number Piece Measurement Marked 8 Dinner Knives 8 5/8" "Birk's Sterling", "Birks Stainless" 8 Butter Knives 6 7/8" "Birk's Sterling", "Birk's Stainless" 8 Dinner Forks 6 7/8" "Birk's Sterling" 8 Salad Forks 6" "Birk's Sterling" 8 Teaspoons 5 6/8" "Birk's Sterling" 8 5 O'Clock Spoons 5" "Birk's Sterling" 8 Demitasse Spoons 4 1/4" "Birk's Sterling" 1 Master Butter Knife 6" "Birk's Sterling" 1 Sugar Shell 5 1/2" "Birk's Sterling" 3 Vegetable/Serving Spoons 7" "Birk's Sterling" plus Hallmark 1 Pie/Cake Server 9" "Birk's Sterling" plus Hallmark 1 Gravy Ladle 7" "Pat. 1895" plus Hallmark plus(can't make out) 1 Cocktail/Lemon Fork 5 1/2" "Pat. 1895" plus Hallmark plus "Sterling" Sterling flatware still protected in their original flannel wraps.
