Vintage Bisque Porcelain Cherub Putti Plaques, Wood / Velvet Frame, Arnart JapanA fabulous pair of Mid Century era, Hollywood Regency style, framed bisque porcelain cherub plaques. The plaques were made in the 1950s in Japan by Arnart. Each plaque depicts a pair of angels, or putti, sitting on a branch overflowing with leaves and berries. The angels, leaves, and berries are in relief against a bisque porcelain oval with a shaded pink background. Each oval sits at the center of an octagonal shaped wood frame surrounded with powder blue velvet matting. All of the porcelain is beautifully hand painted with lots of detail and touches of gold. The frames measure 11 1/4" in diameter. The ovals are 6" tall and 5" wide. The angels are about 1 3/8" in depth.Excellent overall condition, ready to hang. The bisque porcelain has no chips, cracks, or other damage. The velvet is in overall excellent condition, just a little pressed down in a few small spots. One of the frames has a surface chip on the side, and both frames have several tiny chips in the gold finish, it's not noticeable from the front and it could easily be touched up. One of the frames has a tiny hole in the wood on the lower right side. Both frames have a small gap at the seam which is not damage, they were made that way. Please see our other listings for more vintage clothing, read more
