6 Vintage "Blue Onion" Snack Plate & Cup Sets. Made In Japan, Blue Danube China is unique in that it is under glazed and fired at extremely high temperatures (over 2600 degrees). This special process makes each piece microwave and dishwasher safe, detergent-proof and highly resistant to chips. Some pieces can even be used in the oven at temperatures up to 500 degrees. This attractive pattern was discontinued in 2006. It features a blue onion design with leaves and flowers on a white background. Beautifully scalloped plates have extended beveled holding tab. Cups have the "Y" shaped handle. Excellent Condition; no chips, no cracks, no stains. Gently Used. Plates measure 8" x 8-1/4" diameter & are 3/4" deep. Cups measure 3-1/4"diameter & are 2-1/2" tall. All pieces are hallmarked on bottom with Blue Danube "Blue Banner" logo.
