Up for bid is a wonderful recent find. This is a very large figurine of a horse / mare and her resting / reclining colt / pony. This lovely large figurine is marked on the base in raised lettering BMP. It also has a paper logo label which reads Blue Mountain Pottery ...Made in Canada...t is a rim which shows the red clay from which it was made. This large figurine measures 8" at the tallest point and with a base measurement of 8 1/2" at the widest dimension. The trademark BMP colors are beautiful with nice blue greens aqua, dark browish black with a high glossy glaze. The condition is wonderful with no chips, cracks,or repairs to be noted. This would make a stunning addition to any Blue Mountain Pottery collection, or for the collector of horse themed items.I wish my camera was better able to capture the fine quality, beauty, and detail of this large Canadian pottery piece.
