Here is a vintage 1860 book "The Illustrated Life of George Washington". Published in 1860 by G.& F. Bill in New York. The description page says "An account of his early adventures and enterprises, career, presidential life and decease. With vivid pen-paintings of battles and incidents, trials and triumphs etc. By Hon. J.T. Headley." It further states that this book is "sold only by subscription" and the back six pages list other books sold by this company and an advertisement seeking young men, teachers and agents to sell these publications. The book itself has a good bit of wear due to it's age, but no torn pages that I can find. Appears to have just been on a shelf for many years. The owner signed his or her signature inside in beautiful penmanship. R.W. Williamson. Paypal only and free shipping within the continental US by media mail. This is a final sale, no return.
