This is a very majestic boxed set of 6 butter knives made by Joseph Rodgers & Sons of Sheffield. A famous firm of cutlers and silversmiths founded in Sheffield in 1682 and had outlets also in London. These beautiful knives have maker’s marks to the blades and also the inscription ‘Cutlers to His Majesty’ which dates them to early 20 th Century probably 1920’s. They have superb ivorine handles, very smooth and sleek and exquisite rounded blades of the finest steel – absolutely top quality – as to be expected from a Royal Cutler. They measure just over 7” and are in excellent condition showing signs of very light general use. They come in their original silk and velvet lined box (this is a bit scuffed and 1 of the clasps is broken) which measures 8” by 6”. This is a very lavish set of knives extremely stylish and very good quality – certainly for the more discerning dining table. I accept payment via Paypal, Postal Order and Personal Cheque.
