I'm not a train guy so you guys know a lot more about this than I do, but I will describe it as best I can and please forgive my ignorance. I bought this at a little local auction and I couldn't resist. It is a boxed set of the Marx 9000 Southern Pacific train. It has the locomotive, the dummy locomotive, a box car, an open car, and the caboose. It also has the transformer and what looks like the original wires to hook the transformer to the track. The track is not 100% original in the the track has 4 original track sections and 8 Lionel sections, whereas originally it would have had 8 track sections. (I will include all the extra Lionel sections as well). The cars all show some wear so please look at the photos carefully, but overall, I would say the cars are in good shape. I believe there were originally plastic horns on top of the engines but these are missing. Again, I am not a train guy so if you notice anything else missing, well it is missing. The headlights of both engines are there. I did not test this est but the wheels of the engine move freely so that is a good sign. The door of the box car has a little black gunk on it which would probably come off, but I didn't try. There is a little bit of rust on the yellow Wabash car right near the "B".
