This is a very rare find! I am offering straight from an estate sale a Solid Brass wall mount dinner bell. It measures 12.5" from top of frame to bottom of bell. The wall mount piece measures 8.5" and is in the shape of a large middle diamond with tiny diamond shapes on the top and bottom. T are 2 square holes 5" apart for mounting. The top frame is delicately designed with 2 sea serpents in the middle and mounted on the front is a 4.5 " (from top tip of wing to tip of toe) high. The bell is mounted by a 2" (across the middle) brass circle. The bell itself measures approx. 5" high, and 4" across the opening. Inside the bell is a 2.5" brass dong that when hits the sides of the bell rings very loudly. Attached to a bar is a 5" chain with a scrolled open handle at the end, when pulled this makes the bell ring. The design on the bell is scroll work, dogs, a swan, and a wolf. The writing on the bell reads: VOCEM-MEAM- A OVIME-TANGIT.. which translates to ...WHOEVER TOUCHES ME HEARS MY VOICE... This script is often found on older bells. This would make a great entrance bell to a shop, boutique, meeting hall or on the front/back porch of an older home. It would certainly give your place charm, and be a real conversational piece..... especially when you can tell them what the script actually translates to. THE CONDITON OF THIS BELL IS GREAT,
