You are bidding on an original vintage Sherburne Co. of Boston Mass. Caboose Whistle marked DMIR for the Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range Railroad in good to very good condition.The whistle is heavy, weighing 2 pounds and 11.8 ounces on my postal scale, and stands about 7 7/8 inches tall.The push button freely works, and the whistle arm is moveable, but is very tight, needing a lot of effort to move back and forth.The base of the whistle is marked DMIR, for the Duluth, Missabe & Iron Range. This whistle was acquired with a lot of DM&IR locks and keys. Because the patina has been stripped to its original brass, I have the starting bid price set as a common whistle, not one marked DMIR.
