Offered is an elegant vintage brass filigree picture frame, and an old engraving, under glass. The frame measures 13" x 16", thickness (picture 6) is 1/2". There are two smaller frames serving as mats, in brass each 1" from the other, attached by ornate corner fixtures. Between the two spaces there is lovely corner filigree (pictures 3, 4, 5), and on the sides (picture 6) there is a nice art-nouveau style floral motif. The red insert is simply a nice paper mat that can be removed and replaced with another color, or simply remove and leave the engraving (which is the size of the frame). The back is brown velvet or velveteen (thinner than velvet) that includes a stand and a wire. It easily slides out of the frame. The engraving measures 12 1/2" x 15 1/2" and I believe was cut for the frame, it fits perfectly. It is a photogravure by Goupil & Co., entitled "Charity", and produced by D. Appleton & Co., New York. Beautifully done, depicting a lady of quality on a handsome steed handing a small purse to a woman with her children. It is done in brown and white tones. This is an original old print. The frame is in excellent condition with one tiny gold spot on the innermost frame near the bottom right filigree. The engraving has some light marks (possibly watermarks) on the edges outside of the picture. Total weight of the frame is 3 3/4 read more
