Up for auction is a very unique kerosene oil lamp font or fount. The lamp has the name "Co. Mahtab" and what looks like Arabic lettering imprinted in the metal side. I looked the name up and there is currently a company by that name manufacturing electrical lighting and light bulbs in Iran. So either it is the same company or the name is a general one for the manufacture of lighting. Either way, I suspect this was made in Iran. It appears to be quite old. Made of brass. This is the part of a lamp which hold the fuel and has the wick. The bottom has a screw threads so it can be mounted on a base. A fresh wick is in place and the mechanism to move it works well. Cap for the tank is present and also moves easily. Thanks for looking.
