PAYPAL ONLY~ Currently I'm accepting PAYPAL ONLY for my auctions, if you can't pay with PAYPAL, please don't bid, thankyou!!Great looking, heavyweight METAL MORTAR & matching PESTLE(I think it might be brass, but maybe it is bronze or potmetal, I don't know how to tell, sorry! A MAGNET does NOT stick to it though) MORTAR measures approx. 4.5" tall, 4.25" across opening, and 8.25" at widest. The handles are eagles heads, and t are raised relief pictures of hedgehogs inside scrollwork on either side, with decorative borders at top and bottom and on pedestal base. Lettering on the base looks like "VFOLAN" on one side, and "MDCL" on the other side. On the bottom in raised letters, "RAK", and a "2", plus some writing I can't make out, might be "Richard A. Klein" or "Richard A. Kirin"??? PESTLE measures 8" long and is a nice heavy weight too.This reminds me of mortars I used to see in pharmacies, but I don't know the age/origin/or intended use for this one!Please VIEW photos and email any questions prior to bidding.
