I think this is a nutcracker, can't imagine what other purpose it had. The top metal tab/turner is incised on both sides; Brevete France, Ideal. An unusual nutcracker for your collection! It measures: extended full height 6 1/2" long and 2" across at nut area. Condition: Its in excellent vintage condition, has been used and has tiny scuff/scratches but works well.
