This vintage headstall has double thick leather and is in well above average condition. The medium oil color leather is supple with no damage, no dry rot, no sign of repairs, and no surface cracks - not even at the buckle holes or bit holders (see photo #8). I do want to point out that t is one broken buckstitch strand and a former owner added a few extra holes - both are visible in photo #6. The headstall will adjust from approximately 39" to 45" and the 10" long cheek pieces attach to the crown strap with buckles that have the North & Judd anchor logo (see photo #7). The braided leather reins are 74" long with a 1.5" circumference and both are supple and in very good condition; no broken strands, no repairs, etc. T is one spot that is a little flattened (see photo #11) but it's about 2" from the end and won't affect the integrity of the reins. Both quick release snaps have lost their plating but work perfectly- swivel freely, open easily, snap shut and stay shut. The bit has 6.5" long cheeks with a 4" wide mouth; t is some rust w the mouthpiece joins the cheeks and around the rein rings; it is stamped "American" and "PAT. PEND."
