Presented is an exceptional transit by C.L. Berger & Sons, Boston , U.S.A. As you can see in the pictures the transit is in excellent condition, with all of the bubbles in tact and original. All of the adjusting mechanisms for both the leveling and sighting work well. With the exception of needing a good cleaning, this transit is awesome! The number on the directional plate is 13383 ( sold between 1918 and 1922 ) which can also be found on the mounting board which the transit sits on while in the case. The case is a bit rough. It looks as if it is original but has had some "upgrades". The hinges are not original as is the strap. Don't get me wrong, the case still holds and protects the transit very well; it has just seen better days. Inside the case you will find 3 original labels about the use and operation of the transit as well as some safety tips. The transit does come with a tripod which is also in excellent condition. T is a lens cap and an additional length of black metal tubing, which may be a shading device in the case. Overall, I believe this transit to be in excellent condition and it would make a fantastic addition to your collection. As you can imagine, this is a heavy item and I have found that DHL has the lowest shipping costs. Upon completion of the auction I will send you an invoice with acurate shipping costs. read more
