Vintage (c1930) Blue Dip Wedgwood Jasperware 5 Piece Selection - Various A selection of vintage , blue dipped, Wedgwood Jasperware pieces is ou r next offering, five pieces in total. This particular quintet comprises of the following:BACK ROW1 x Small creamer - Measures approximately 6cm in height, 13cm maximum length1 x Baluster budvase - Measures approximately 12.5cm in height, 4.5cm base diameter1 x Slop bowl - Measures approximately 5cm in height, 10cm rim diameterFRONT ROW1 x Rhombus shaped trinket dish - Measures approximately 15cm in length, 11.5cm width1 x Match striker box and cover - Measures approximately 3cm in height, 10cm lengthEach of the pieces features white bas -relief images and bandings to blue dipped bodies. The creamer features Priam begging the body of Hector to one sidesacrifice to Aesc ulapius to the other. The vase carries the Three Graces and Bellerophon watering Pegasus whilst the slop bowl has a series of four images that include Nike and warrior and Coriolanus. The trinket dish features Euterpe from the Muses and, finally, the match striker box feature Ulysses staying the Chariot of Victory to its cover. The pieces are all impress marke d to their bases, as per the addit ional image (budvase). They all roughly date to the Art Deco period, so around 1930.The pieces are in overall excellent condition with just one small chip to the underside of the creamer sp out and a couple of age related fissures to the relief that are of little consequence.When these pieces arrived I decided straight away that I would keep them together as a selection because there is something of interest for everyone here. The stand out piece is obviously the match striker, once quite rare they are coming out of the woodwork at a high rate now and this is always good for collectors. The earlier ones would have had the pin-holes in the cover to store your match but this one, at least, has the striker ridging to the underside of the cover, something not repeated on the more modern examples.
