vintage calcium carbide/acetylene torch. works like a miners lamp. adding calcium carbide to water generates acetylene gas. untested. this piece has seen a lot of use and the outer container has multiple patches/repairs. carbide basket in good shape, adjustable pressure gauge on top. hose attaches to body with a threaded fitting which has been removed for photos. probably late 19th early 20th century. used by many industries. examine photos, ask questions, what you see is what you get no returns.
